Grant applications are reviewed by grants staff and forwarded to the seven-member County Parks Advisory Committee, where project sponsors are asked to make a presentation. The advisory committee makes a priority list and recommends awards to OPRD’s Director and the OPRD Commission.

|
On November 9, 2010, the County Parks Assistance Advisory Committee reviewed and prioritized eight grant applications for funding based on local need and benefit, planning and public involvement, design (with emphasis on sustainability and accessibility), and funding sources.
On January 26, 2011, the OPRD Commission approved the Committee’s recommendation to award seven counties a total of $700,862 in County Opportunity Grants.
