The tour highlights Portland's founders, early pioneers and nationally recognized figures, as well as interesting headstones and monumnets. Explore 30 acres of mature trees and a very special rose garden. Meet at the main entrance at Southeast 21st Avenue and Morrison Street on Bus 15. A suggested donation of $10.00 goes to headstone restoration and educational programs.

Turn left onto N Columbus Ave. The center will be immediately on right. It is a big red brick building with blue metal roof. Parking lot is accessed via Jackson Street.

Bare Bones of Volunteer Recruitment, Retention and Recognition

Topics will include recruitment, orientation, training, recognition and retention of community volunteers. This workshop will combine brainstorm sessions, hands-on activities, and lecture to show participants how to use the resources in their own communities to build and maintain a solid volunteer program. Also included will be a lively session on event planning. There will be handouts and other materials available.
Workshop leader, Kathy Wilson, has been a volunteer program manager for more than 25 years with experience in various nonprofits including Mission Mill Museum in Salem. Currently, she coordinates volunteer services at Hillsboro Public Library.
