  • Designing Projects for Successful Grants Workshop 
February 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The workshop will be at the North Mall Office Building, 725 Summer St. NE, Salem in room 124A.The workshop is free to all who are interested. It will cover how to plan your project and write about it for a successful grant application. We will emphasize the Oregon Heritage Grants, the Oregon Museums Grants and the Historic Cemeteries Grant offered by Heritage Programs of Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, but the information can be applied to any grant.

  • Oregon Commission on Historic Cemeteries Meeting
    March 5 from 1:00 p.m. to5:00 p.m. The meeting will be at the Brownsville Public Library, 146 Spaulding Ave, Brownsville. Join the Commission to discuss issues related to the care and preservation of Oregon's historic cemeteries. Topics will include commission position papers, the recent Oregon Heritage Commission survey and more. Public comment and particapation is welcome.

  • Maintaining and Preserving Cemetery Records Workshop 
    March 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The workshop will be at the Brownsville Public Library, 146 Spaulding Ave, Brownsville. The workshop is free to all who are interested. It will review the type of information to collect, how to organize and preserve paper records and explore various electronic approaches to manage records.We will discuss some of the current software and what to look for to meet your cemetery's needs.

NOTE REGARDING HISTORIC OPEN HOUSES:
Senate Bill 192 that was passed during the 2009 Legislative Session contained revisions to the Special Assessment of Historic Property tax benefit program. One of those revisions in the bill was the elimination of the open house requirement for historic property oweners, therefore, we will no longer be posting a monthly open house list.
