RESERVATION POLICIES AND RULES
Making a reservation
Whether you call or go online, you may make reservations 2 days to 9 months in advance of your first night's stay. Online reservations count back nine months to the nearest business day. If you count back 9 months, and end up on a weekend or holiday, the next business day is the earliest you may make a reservation online or on the phone. Our business day is 8 a.m. -5 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time, Monday through Friday, except holidays.
  • You must be 18 or older to make a reservation. An adult must accompany minors at the site.
  • Horse camping: Reservations and registrations for horse camping sites are only for people camping with their horses or similar large animals.

Things to bring to the Park
Bring your confirmation letter; it will make check-in faster. If you have rain checks, bring them to the park.

Express Check-in
Express Check-in often means you can drive right to your campsite without waiting in line at the booth (does not apply to yurts, cabins, tepees and other special facilities). Express Check-in customers receive a special tag to place on the vehicle dashboard. Be sure to bring it to use Express Check-in.

Paying when you arrive
If you're camping, the site fee you have paid only includes one vehicle. If you have an additional vehicle (and the site allows additional vehicles) you must register and pay an additional $5 per night, per vehicle at the park.

Some Oregon state parks charge a day-use service fee to visitors who aren't camping. The service fee is $5 per vehicle or $30 for an annual pass.

Cancelling your reservation
  • The reservation and transaction fees are non-refundable.  No exceptions.

  • Campsite, rustic yurt, rustic cabin, tepee, or boat moorage: If you cancel within 3 calendar days of your arrival date, OPRD retains your reservation fee, transaction fee (if any) and first night’s use fee.

  • Deluxe yurts, deluxe cabins, day-use/picnic shelters, group camps, youth camps, ranches, horse camps: If you cancel within one month to the day of your exact arrival date, OPRD will retain your reservation fee, transaction fee (if any) and first night/day use fee.

  • If your arrival date is today or tomorrow, you must call the park where you have reserved; the phone number is listed on the front of your confirmation letter. If your arrival date is after today or tomorrow, please call Reservations Northwest: Portland Metro Area, 503-731-3411, or outside Portland, 800-452-5687. Cancellation requests can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the automated voicemail system or via email at OPRD.Reservation@state.or.us

  • If you paid by Visa or MasterCard, you will receive a credit to your card. If you paid by check or money order, you will receive a check in the mail from the State of Oregon.

  • Please be aware that only the person whose name is on the reservation may change or cancel the reservation.

Changing your reservation
  • There is an $8 non-refundable transaction fee for any changes made to a reservation.

New campsite reservation rules are in effect.  The rules apply to new reservations as well as changes to existing reservations:

    • Full payment for the length of stay is required at the time you make your reservation or change an existing reservation.
    • Reservations for more than five nights/days that are later changed to fewer nights/days will be charged a fee equal to the nightly/daily site fee for each night/day canceled as well as the $8 transaction fee.

Campsite, rustic yurt, rustic cabin, tepee, or boat moorage: to make changes more than 3 calendar days before your stay (including your arrival date), call Reservations Northwest.  Changes cannot be made within 3 calendar days of your scheduled arrival date. Changes can only be made during normal business hours.   Reservations Northwest’s current hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific Daylight Time.

  • Deluxe yurts, deluxe cabins, horse camps, day-use/picnic shelters, group camps, youth camps or ranches: to make changes call Reservations Northwest at least one month before the exact date of arrival.  If it is less than one month prior to the exact date of arrival, you must cancel and try to re-book the reservation. OPRD retains the first night’s use fee/deposit.  If the last day to change falls on a weekend or holiday, you have until 5 p.m. on the following business day to change your reservation. Changes can be made only during normal business hours. Reservations Northwest’s current hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific Daylight Time.

  • Reservations may be made up to 9 months in advance of the date of arrival. Date changes to any reservation cannot be made until 8 months in advance of the arrival date.

  • Please be aware that only the person whose name is on the reservation has access to change the reservation.

Confirming your reservation
It is not normally necessary to call to confirm your reservation. The confirmation letter you receive via e-mail (within 2-5 days) or in the mail (within 10-14 days) after making your reservation is all you need (be sure to bring it to the park). If you really feel the need, call 1-800-452-5687 to check on the details of your reservation. Have your confirmation letter handy if you received one.

Please be aware that only the person whose name is on the reservation has access to change the reservation.
